"What If I Have a Dental Emergency?"

We're here for you!

Call our office immediately and let us know the nature of your emergency. We always leave room in our schedule to deal with the unexpected and we will get you in right away!

Knowing what to do in a dental emergency can make the difference between saving a tooth and losing it, so here are some emergency guidelines to follow:

If a permanent tooth is knocked out, try to keep the tooth moist by either placing it back in its socket, holding it between the cheek and gum or placing it in a container with some milk or saline solution.

Don't scrub it or remove any attached tissue.

If a baby tooth is knocked out because of an accident, it's important to see the dentist right away. We need to make sure there is no damage to the bone or gums, and no broken portions of the tooth remain in the socket.

Clean the mouth out by gently swishing it with warm water. If there is facial swelling, hold a cold compress against the swollen area.

Bring the broken piece of the tooth with you, it might be possible to restore the tooth using dental bonding.

Rinse the painful area with warm water and use your regular pain medication to relieve any discomfort.

If there is any facial swelling accompanying the pain, it is very important to see us right away. The swelling could indicate a dangerous infection that needs to be treated immediately.

‘‘Visited Dr. Graber’s office for the first time after switching dentists and was blown away by his attention-to-detail and the overall level of service I received. Dr. Graber was thorough and very knowledgeable. He filled a cavity, replaced a filling, and sealed two molars. I could not be happier with the work that was done or the switch I made to Dr. Graber’s office. If you’re not already one of his patients, make the switch - you’ll be happy you did!’’
